• Descon has been promoted in 1995 by Dishergarh Power Supply Company Limited (DPSCL).

• Dishergarh Power Supply Corporation Limited (DPSC Limited) is a 400 Crores Power Generation-Transmission-Distribution conglomerate based in the eastern part of India. A major player in the power sector, DPSCL started its operation in 1919 and has been growing since then.

• This gives Descon a rich financial strength and a mid size company status. Descon’s office real estate is owned by the group and is approx. in 2.15 acres of land. Presently, the office space consists of 4 floors with more than 65,000 square feet of floor space. Provision of expansion is there.

• This enables Descon to ramp up, utilize large infrastructure resources and bench not immediately required resources for a given period of time.

• Presently, Descon has more than 200 engineers and a regular recruitment drive is on by which the head count is supposed to increase to 500 by 07-08.

March 1995: Company formed for providing consultancy in Energy Sector

July 1999: Further extended its services to CAD and GIS sector

August 2003: Launched Cablecomm Services Pvt. Ltd. as a Joint Venture company to become an MSO (Multi Service Operator) for providing Digital Cable TV Signals.

May 2004: Launched Descon (UK) Limited to extend its IT services in UK and Europe

October 2004: Launched Descon Soft Limited to provide ITES services to overseas client in Joint Venture with Public Soft Corporation a Telesynergy (USA) group company.

May 2005: Launched Descon Training Center to provide training on ITES with main focus on Call Center.

March 2006: Started Internet Services in Association with RailTel.

May 2006: Further extended its services to Embedded Technology domain.

Descon’s Kolkata Campus is spread across 2.15 acres of land in Salt Lake Sector V Electronics Complex. Kolkata Development Centre comprises of more than 65,000 square feet of floor space. Huge expansion is in progress.
